At Nest, we provide a safe and non judgmental space to process the challenges and experiences in your parenting journey. We might explore feelings of depression or anxiety, or work towards a more healthy relationship with your partner, or process through a difficult or traumatic birth experience. We also work with women who are struggling with infertility, foster parents and adoptive parents.
In addition to individual counseling, we often invite family members in for family therapy sessions if it might be helpful. We often invite moms to bring their babies as well to work on developing a strong and secure attachment. Caregivers are welcome to feed their babies however they choose and we always have extra diapers, wipes and baby toys available.
Individual Therapy for Adults & Children
In addition to my work with new moms, I also work more generally with adults and children struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and other concerns. Sessions for adults and teenagers are generally one hour long. Sessions for young children may be shorter and may also include the parent/caregiver in sessions. With children, we may use play, art and games to work through emotional concerns, in addition to talking.
Struggling with parenting, but not sure you need therapy? Maybe you just lost it on your kids again and now you are feeling guilty and ashamed. Perhaps you need advice on how to tell your kids that you are getting a divorce or that grandma died recently.
Parent consultations are generally 1-4 sessions focused on offering resources, support and guidance on a particular parenting concern.
Please note, parent consultations are NOT reimbursable through insurance as they are not psychotherapy.
Nest is currently in network with the following companies:

Can I bring my baby to therapy sessions?
Some parents prefer to come alone to therapy sessions so they are able to fully focus on their own wellbeing. Other parents struggle to leave their young child and prefer to bring them. I honor whatever you choose to do.
What if I can't make it to my appointment?
We ask that you provide 24 hours notice for all cancellations to avoid a late charge.
How do I make an appointment?
Give us a call at 302-298-1453 and we can discuss if it feels like a good fit or click "Book A Session" at the top of the page
How do I find the time to come in for sessions?
Many of our clients have work, family and other obligations which leave little time for therapy. It is a large commitment. Most people make it work by coming early morning before work, on their lunch break, or adjusting their work hours. As therapy is a medical appointment, I am happy to provide an excuse note for work or school if needed. Most employers are accommodating if you let them know you have a recurring medical appointment. I also offer limited evening appointments and video sessions for those who need it.
What if you are not in network with my insurance?
If you want to see me for therapy, but I am not in network with your insurance company, give me a call and we can discuss options. Many people have out of network benefits they can use (50-70% reimbursement is common for PPO plans). I am happy to call your insurance company to find out about these benefits. I am also happy to send the forms for reimbursement to your insurance company. All you have to do is pay upfront for services and wait for a check in the mail from your insurance company. Other options include using Flexible Savings or Health Savings (FSA or HSA) funds.
