Megan Ellow, LCSW
As a native Delawarean, I attended Wilmington University for my undergraduate studies and Delaware State University for my Masters Degree in Social Work. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker here in Delaware and I have spent the last decade working in various mental health agencies, non profits and schools in the Philadelphia region. I've worked with young children up to adults.
I have specialized training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders through Postpartum Support International. I also have training and experience in Substance Use, Trauma, Grief & Loss and Play Therapy. In my work, I found that so many women spend their lives caring for others and not taking care of themselves. I want women and moms to feel supported and cared for so they can live a fulfilling life and have the emotional energy to do the important work we do as women.
About my Approach:
I utilize evidenced based treatments, which means that I try to use approaches which are researched and shown to be highly effective. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness. I want you to feel better as soon as possible, so we will work together on developing a treatment plan. In addition to talk therapy, we might work on building a support network, connecting you with psychiatrists for medication, talking with a nutritionist, or using Yoga and Meditation to help support your treatment. No matter the approach, I always believe the client is the guide of their own life and I feel honored to get to walk alongside you for a part of your journey.
